Pastor Houser’s sermon. Matthew 25: 31-46 the Gospel. First life, then fruit. First comes our Lord jesus Christ who is life and gives himself as a ransom for our sin and overcomes death. The fruit of the cross bears salvation.

In the Gospel Christ says, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”

But understand the Gospel truth. First comes life in Christ from which flows fruit of good works – not that we may boast. Everything done apart from Faith is sin.
